If you want to connect your charger to a new broadband, please follow the below steps:
Note: Please ensure the following before you start commissioning.
- The Wi-fi router and the charger shouldn't be more than 5 meters away.
- Project EV chargers - Work only on 2.4 GHz network.
EVIQ chargers - Work only on 2.4 GHz network.
Vestel chargers - Work on both 2.4 and 5 GHz networks. - Few chargers will only accept 16 characters in Wi-Fi SSID and Password.
- Always enable location services before you start the commissioning process.
Download and Open the Installer Miles App:
To get started, please follow the steps below to onboard your charger using the Installer Miles app:
- Tap on ‘Access for Electric Miles Drivers’, then select ‘Charger Connectivity’.
- Select your charger make and model, and scan the corresponding QR code.
- Tap on ‘Network Setup’, and choose Wi-Fi.
- Tap on ‘Wi-Fi Network’, select your home network, and enter the password.
⚠️ Please ensure the password is entered correctly, as it is case-sensitive. - Under ‘Other Settings’, choose your preferred mode – Plug & Charge or App Mode – and save your selection.
- Ensure that your charger is emitting a hotspot.
? If it isn't, try turning the charger off and on, and wait for 30–40 seconds.
✅ To confirm the hotspot is visible, check the Wi-Fi settings on your mobile device. (Do not connect to it manually; this step is just for verification.) - Tap ‘Next’, and when prompted, click ‘Join’ to connect to the charger’s hotspot.
- Once the connection is established, a success screen will be displayed.
⚠️ Troubleshooting Tips
- If commissioning fails, double-check the following:
- Correct charger serial number entered
- Correct Wi-Fi SSID and password
- Android users: If the first commissioning attempt fails, wait 5 minutes before retrying.
- iOS users: If the wrong Wi-Fi password was entered, go to your Wi-Fi settings, forget the network, enable 4G, and then restart the onboarding process via the Installer Miles app.
