How do I bring my charger back online on the Electric Miles app?

If you encounter the message “We couldn’t find your charger” while trying to add your charger to Electric Miles, it means your charger is offline. Follow these steps to connect it:

  1. Download and Open the Installer Miles App:
    • Tap on 'Access for Electric Miles Drivers.'
    • Select 'Charger Connectivity.'
    • Ensure location permissions are enabled.

  1. Select Charger Make & Model:
    • Scan the QR code or enter the serial number of your charger.

  1. Configure Charger via Wi-Fi:
    • Disconnect your phone from your home Wi-Fi network.
    • Grant location access to the app when prompted.
    • Tap on 'Network setup,' then select 'Wi-Fi.'

  1. Connect to Your Wi-Fi:
    • For Android Users:
      • Select your network, enter the password, and tap "Connect." If successful, a confirmation message will appear.
      • Tap ‘Save’ in the top right corner.

        Note -
        Ensure your Wi-Fi SSID and Password is limited to 16 characters.

        Project EV and EVIQ chargers will only connect to a 2.4 GHz network.

        Make sure Wi-fi router is within 5 meters range of the charger for successful commissioning.

For iOS users:
 

      • Temporarily disconnect from your home Wi-Fi through your phone’s network settings.
      • In the Installer Miles App, enter your network name (case-sensitive) and password.
      • Tap "Connect." A success message will appear if the credentials are correct.


      • Note -
        Ensure your Wi-Fi SSID and Password is limited to 16 characters.

        Project EV and EVIQ chargers will only connect to a 2.4 GHz network.

        Make sure Wi-fi router is within 5 meters range of the charger for successful commissioning.

  1. Ensure the Charger is in Pairing Mode:
    • Turn off the mains fuse connected to the charger and turn it back on after 30 seconds.
    • The charger will emit a hotspot for about a minute.
    • Confirm the hotspot in your phone's Wi-Fi settings (network name: charger serial number). Do not connect to this hotspot; refresh the list if needed.
    • Alternatively, return to the Installer Miles app for automatic connection.

  1. Complete the Connection:
    • Return to the app, press "Connect," and tap 'Join' when prompted to join your charger’s hotspot.

  1. Success!
    • A success screen will appear. If not, check the following:
      • Ensure your Wi-Fi router is within 5 meters of the charger.
      • Confirm your phone's location services are set to 'Always while using the app.'
