How do I bring my charger back online on the Electric Miles app via LAN (Hardwired)?

Modified on Tue, 15 Apr at 1:56 PM

To get started, please follow the steps below to onboard your charger using the Installer Miles app:

  1. Download and launch the Installer Miles App.
Tap on ‘Access for Electric Miles Drivers’, then select ‘Charger Connectivity’.
  2. Select your charger make and model, and scan the corresponding QR code.
  3. Tap on ‘Network Setup’, and choose LAN
    Initial Configuration
  4. Ensure the LAN cable is disconnected from the charger before beginning the setup.
  5. Within the Network Setup section of the Installer Miles App, toggle the LAN switch to the ‘On’ position.
    • A LAN Network cell will appear, set to Dynamic IP by default.
    • We recommend keeping these default settings.
  6. To confirm your selection, tap ‘Save’ at the top-right corner of the screen.
  7. Once saved, the Network Setup panel should indicate a green ‘Dynamic’ status, confirming that LAN has been selected successfully.
  8. Proceed to the Charging Mode section, choose your preferred mode, and tap ‘Save’.

To enable control via the Electric Miles app, ensure the charging mode is set to App.

Final Setup – Restarting the Charger

To complete the configuration, the charger must be restarted properly. Follow these steps carefully:

  1. Ensure the LAN cable remains disconnected from the charger during this process.
  2. Turn off your Wi-Fi router (If your charger was previously connected to the same network, you need to follow this step).
    • This step is crucial as previously configured chargers attempt to reconnect to the last known Wi-Fi network, which prevents the hotspot from activating.
  3. Once the router is off, power cycle the charger by switching the mains power off and back on, then wait approximately 1 minute.
    • The charger will begin emitting its hotspot.
  4. Return to the Installer Miles App and tap ‘Next’ to proceed.
    • When prompted, tap ‘Continue’, and allow any pop-up requests to join the charger's local network.
  5. Allow a few minutes for the configuration to complete.
  6. If successful:
    • The charger will reboot, you’ll hear a confirmation beep, and the app will display a success message indicating the charger is online.
  7. After successful configuration, plug the LAN cable back into the charger and the other end to the Wi-Fi router.
  8. You may now turn your router back on and return to the Electric Miles App to begin using your charger.
